105th Border Guard Detachment named after Prince Volodymyr the Great

The 105th Border Detachment named after Prince Volodymyr the Great (Chernihiv Border Detachment) is responsible for guarding and defending a section of the state border located within the districts of Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivskyi, Koriukivskyi, Snovskyi, Horodnianskyi, Ripkynskyi, and Chernihivskyi in the Chernihiv region.

The total length of the border section is 459 km, including:

• 235 km with Belarus
• 234 km with Russia, of which:
  • 206.3 km is land border
  • 252.7 km is river border

Role in the Defense Forces:

Within the Chernihiv region, units of the State Border Guard Service, as part of the Defense Forces, carry out operations aimed at:

• Preventing breakthroughs of enemy military groups into Ukrainian territory
• Detecting the enemy’s defense systems and firepower assets
• Delivering fire strikes against enemy positions

These efforts are focused on reducing the intensity of shelling of Ukrainian territory by the Russian Federation.
