105th Border Guard Detachment named after Prince Volodymyr the Great
is a territorial body of border protection of the central subordination of the Administration of the State Border Service of Ukraine
The 105th Border Detachment named after Prince Volodymyr the Great (Chernihiv Border Detachment) is responsible for guarding and defending a section of the state border located within the districts of Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivskyi, Koriukivskyi, Snovskyi, Horodnianskyi, Ripkynskyi, and Chernihivskyi in the Chernihiv region.
The total length of the border section is 459 km, including:
- 235 km with Belarus
- 234 km with Russia, of which:
- 206.3 km is land border
- 252.7 km is river border
Role in the Defense Forces:
Within the Chernihiv region, units of the State Border Guard Service, as part of the Defense Forces, carry out operations aimed at:
- Preventing breakthroughs of enemy military groups into Ukrainian territory
- Detecting the enemy’s defense systems and firepower assets
- Delivering fire strikes against enemy positions
These efforts are focused on reducing the intensity of shelling of Ukrainian territory by the Russian Federation.
