

Territorial Defense Brigade of the Regional Directorate "North"
The 112th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was formed in Kyiv in May 2018. Since then, training sessions, preparations, shooting days, and training ground exercises have been conducted, along with meetings on the formation and preparation of the Territorial Defense Brigade based on battalions formed according to the territorial principle in each district of the capital.
During the defense of Kyiv amid the Russian invasion in February 2022, the 112th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade demonstrated courage and bravery in battles in many directions, including near Brovary, Hostomel, Bucha, Irpin, Moshchun, and Chornobyl. After the liberation of Kyiv region, the brigade’s units initially carried out stabilization measures and demining of territories. Beginning in May 2022, they were redeployed to southern and eastern Ukraine, where they continue combat operations.
The brigade participated in repelling the Russian invasion of Ukraine in various directions, including in 2022:
Heroes of Ukraine: the brigade includes seven Heroes of Ukraine, all titles awarded posthumously.
More than 1,000 servicemen of the brigade have been awarded state honors.
On August 29, 2022, the 112th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade was presented with the Battle Flag and the Presidential Certificate of Ukraine attached to it.
On July 28, 2023, on the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, according to Presidential Decree No. 460/2023, the 112th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was awarded the honorary distinction — the ribbon to the Battle Flag “For Courage and Bravery.”
On January 6, 2024, on the Feast of the Epiphany, for direct participation in battles against Russian invaders during the defense of the capital of Ukraine and for carrying out measures to deter and repel the aggression of the Russian Federation, the 112th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade was awarded the distinction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — the ribbon to the Battle Flag “For Participation in the Defense of Ukraine.”
