The 1129th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the Ukrainian Ground Forces has played a crucial role in repelling aerial attacks during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Combat Activity: The regiment has actively engaged in destroying enemy UAVs, including ZALA drones, particularly in the northern operational direction. It has successfully neutralized aerial targets using MANPADS and anti-aircraft missile systems.
One of the regiment’s soldiers, at just 24 years old, reportedly destroyed 31 enemy aerial targets, showcasing exceptional skill and dedication.
Awards and Recognition: As of January 19, 2022, during the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation, over 200 servicemen from the regiment had been awarded state and military honors, including: Orders "For Courage", "For Merit", and other decorations from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the General Staff, the Commander of the Joint Forces, and the Commander of the Ground Forces.
On August 24, 2022, in recognition of the regiment’s exemplary service in defending Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded it the honorary title "Bila Tserkva", restoring historic military traditions. The unit was officially renamed the 1129th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.
On July 28, 2023, by presidential decree, the regiment was further honored with the "For Courage and Bravery"award, recognizing its heroism and valor in combat.
