114th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade

The 114th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade was formed in September 2018 in Kyiv Oblast. Its creation began with battalion training exercises held in Vasylkiv district, which laid the foundation for the subsequent formation of the brigade. In July 2019, training sessions were conducted with reservists and military personnel, strengthening the unit’s operational capacity. On August 29, 2022, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, presented the brigade commander with the Battle Flag.

During the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the 114th Brigade’s units took part in battles in eastern Ukraine, particularly in the Klishchiivka area. Soldiers of the 135th Battalion of the brigade distinguished themselves in combat operations in this sector.

On August 29, 2022, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi once again presented the brigade with its Battle Flag. On July 5, 2024, Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces, Major General Ihor Plakhuta, awarded the soldiers of the 135th Battalion of the 114th Brigade with the Commander-in-Chief’s honorary badges “Cross of the Brave” and “Golden Cross,” as well as the medals “Defender of the Motherland” and “For Military Service to Ukraine.”
