The 142nd Separate Infantry Brigade is a military unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, formed in 2023. In 2025, the brigade was reorganized into the 142nd Separate Mechanized Brigade to reflect its growing capabilities and operational evolution.

Insignia and Symbolism The brigade’s patch is shield-shaped, divided into olive and blue sections. At the center are two crossed sabers, surrounded by eight zeros. These elements symbolize combat readiness, determination, and the unity of the unit.
Combat Participation Since its formation, the brigade has been actively engaged in combat operations against Russian forces. It took part in the Ukrainian counteroffensive of 2023. As the unit matured and gained experience, it was reorganized into a mechanized brigade in December 2024, and officially reclassified in early 2025 to match its new role on the battlefield.
