16th separate regiment of operational support

The 16th Separate Regiment of Operational Support (16 OPAZ) is a unit of operational support of the ground forces as part of the Operational Command "South".

The 16th separate operational support regiment (OPZ) will play an important role in the war against Russia from 2022. This unit, known for its engineering and supply functions, is actively involved in the implementation of tasks related to the provision of front-line troops and infrastructure support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Russia in February 2022, the regiment took part in strengthening defensive positions, erecting fortifications and demining the territories. In addition, the unit provided logistical support, which included the supply of necessary equipment, machinery and materials for front-line military units. Regimental engineers are also involved in the restoration of damaged infrastructure, including bridges and roads, which are critical for the movement of troops and civilian cargo

The regiment's participation in the war was also marked by numerous awards and promotions for servicemen who distinguished themselves by their professionalism and selflessness during hostilities
