The 228th Separate Logistics Battalion is a specialized unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, created following NATO unit standards. Its primary task is the strategic support of combat brigades, which includes the supply of fuel, ammunition, food, and material and technical resources, as well as the evacuation and repair of military equipment and the construction of strategically important facilities.
Key Battles
The 228th Logistics Battalion provided support during offensive and defensive operations on critical frontlines. In particular, in May 2023, the battalion, together with the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the AFU, pushed back russian forces from a position near the city of Horlivka.
Honors and Awards
Servicemen of the 228th Separate Logistics Battalion were awarded the Order of Saint George the Victorious for courage and dedication in the performance of their duties.
Support and Needs
The battalion actively cooperates with local communities and charitable organizations to meet its logistical needs. For example, the Kalush community donated six tractors for military logistics, significantly enhancing the battalion’s operational effectiveness.
