Union of artillery troops as part of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is based in the city of Berdychiv, Zhytomyr region. It is part of the "North" operational command.
The brigade bears an honorary name in honor of Corporal General Roman Dashkevich, a military and political figure of the Ukrainian People's Republic, one of the founders of the Ukrainian artillery. The artillery brigade was formed on July 5, 2004 on the basis of the directive of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine No. 312/1/014 of June 18, 2004 on the basis of the 62nd separate mechanized brigade, which in turn was formed on the basis of the 119th training center. Taking into account the high achievements shown during 2004-2008, the 26th artillery brigade was awarded the honorary name "Berdychivska" by the President of Ukraine - Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko
At the end of February 2014, Russian armed aggression against Ukraine began: Russia invaded Crimea. From the middle of March 2014, the units of the brigade were in the Crimea region. In March-April, the brigade sent 2C5 "Hyacinth-S" and 2C19 "Msta-S" self-propelled guns to the training ground of the division, where they underwent coordination together with other brigades. On November 11, 2014, the brigade received the restored "Hyacinth" and "Pion" gun systems and began practice shooting at the range. By January 2015, the 5th division of the brigade, armed with "Hyacinths", renamed the 191st gun self-propelled artillery division, was already part of the newly created 43rd separate artillery brigade.
On May 6, 2019, on the first celebration of Infantry Day, the brigade received an honorary name in honor of Corporal General Roman Dashkevich. On July 6, 2019, a ribbon was presented to the battle banner with an honorary title.
In August 2019, the 732nd Artillery Armament Base handed over a set of 1B12 artillery fire control command vehicles to the brigade for further use.
In October 2022, it became known that the brigade uses Polish AHS Krab howitzers. German PzH 2000 self-propelled guns were also adopted by the brigade
