The brigade was created at the end of 2014 on the basis of the 5th division of the 26th separate artillery brigade, which was armed with the 2C7 "Pion" artillery units removed from storage shortly before that. The 5th Division was renamed the 191st Gun Self-Propelled Artillery Division as part of the 43rd Brigade. On May 5, 2015, in a tent town near the village of The girl was issued the first written order of the commander of the military unit. In 2016, the 45th OMPB, which was part of the brigade, was disbanded and a guard battalion was created on its base. In October 2017, the deputy commander of the 44th OABr, Colonel Oleg Mykhailovych Dorokhov, was appointed the commander of the 43rd OABr. On October 14, 2020, the brigade was awarded the honorary title "after Hetman Taras Tryasyl". After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the brigade participated in battles in the Kyiv region, where the consumption of shells was more than 100 pieces per artillery system per day. After the liberation of Kyiv region, the 43rd OABr took part in battles in the south, north-east and east of Ukraine, as well as in the Donetsk region. After that, it was redeployed to the Kharkiv region to participate in the Kharkiv counteroffensive operation, where the consumption of shells was about 50 pieces per artillery system per day. After successful actions during the Balaklia breakthrough, the unit began to perform tasks in the Donetsk region.
