a military formation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a brigade size.
47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura"
The brigade was established in 2022 following the start of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Initially formed as a battalion of volunteers and servicemen from other units, it was later expanded into an assault regiment, and in November 2022 — into a full-fledged brigade.
Key Battles:
- Summer 2023: Participated in fighting on the Tokmak axis near the town of Orikhiv.
- October 2023 – February 2024: Battles in Avdiivka.
- 2025: Defense along the Kursk direction, including the repulsion of a massive assault by russia’s 155th Naval Infantry Brigade.
- In summer, the battalion also took part in battles near the Vuhlehirsk Thermal Power Plant. In fall 2022, the battalion was expanded into an assault regiment, and by November — into a brigade.
In early June 2023, the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade was assigned a difficult and crucial task — to breach russian defenses in the Zaporizhzhia region from Orikhiv and Mala Tokmachka along the front line toward the city of Tokmak. On August 21–22, after two months of intense fighting, the brigade’s soldiers entered the village of Robotyne, breaking through the first line of Russian occupation forces’ defense.
In the battles for Avdiivka, the brigade made active use of FPV drones. In January 2024, the brigade was engaged in defensive operations, and for several months, there was no enemy advance in the area of responsibility of the 47th Mechanized Brigade.
