Military formation of artillery troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The 48th Artillery Brigade of the Ground Forces was formed during the full-scale war. The first combat units of the 48th Artillery Brigade went into battle in January 2024 on the Zaporizhzhia front. Since then, the units have been actively forming, undergoing coordination, and immediately engaging in repelling the enemy's armed aggression.
Despite being recently formed, the brigade's artillerymen have participated in combat operations on nearly all frontlines. Today, they successfully destroy enemy equipment and personnel.
The brigade is equipped with self-propelled artillery systems such as 2S22 "Bohdana," 2S7 "Pion," and Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers. Since the beginning of 2025, the brigade's "Bohdana" systems have fired over 3,000 rounds, and other artillery systems have fired over 2,000 rounds.
The brigade participated in combat operations in the Donetsk region, particularly in the area of Velyka Novosilka, where it struck russian armored vehicles, artillery systems, ammunition depots, and observation posts.
In December 2024, the brigade operated on the southern front, attempting to halt the russian forces' advance.
In January 2025, the brigade reported significant losses among russian forces, stating that russian assault units were forced to "step over the bodies of dead russian soldiers."
