The training unit of the military intelligence of Ukraine, which, according to the organizational and staffing structure, is part of the 184th training center of the Ukrainian Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Land Forces.
The 49th Intelligence Training Center is a specialized unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, established to train highly qualified military intelligence personnel.
The center was founded on April 3, 2016, based on the 49th Separate Intelligence Training Battalion. Its creation was a response to the need for systematic training of intelligence operatives in the context of hybrid warfare. The instructor staff includes experienced servicemen with combat backgrounds as well as specialists trained according to NATO standards.
Although the center is not a combat unit, its graduates actively participate in combat operations in eastern and southern Ukraine. They perform tasks related to intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, and operational security. More than 20 reconnaissance servicemen trained at the center have been awarded medals for their participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine. These awards reflect the high level of training and professionalism of the center’s graduates.
The symbol of the 49th Intelligence Training Center features an image of an owl and a Latin motto: “Exercitatio artem parat,” which translates to “Training prepares skill.” This motto emphasizes the importance of continuous learning and skill development in achieving excellence in military intelligence.
