

The training unit for training specialists for engineering units is part of the 169 training center of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to its organizational and staffing structure.
Located in the urban-type settlement of Huyva in the Zhytomyr district, the military unit was established in 1997. The battalion was part of the 8th Army Corps of the Northern Operational-Territorial (Operational) Command.
With the outbreak of war in eastern Ukraine in 2014, the unit was involved in the Anti-Terrorist Operation, focusing on the restoration of military equipment that had been damaged in combat. During the ATO, the unit’s personnel were reinforced by servicemen mobilized into the Armed Forces.
The 50th Separate Repair and Recovery Battalion is a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Its main mission is the maintenance, repair, and restoration of military equipment, including armored vehicles and transport.
The unit plays an active role in supporting the combat readiness of the troops by ensuring the rapid return of equipment to service. The battalion’s personnel are recognized for their high level of professionalism and responsibility in carrying out their duties, which contributes to the effective functioning of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
