502nd Electronic Warfare Battalion

The battalion was formed in 1992 on the basis of the 16th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion. Since 2003, the unit has functioned as the 502nd Separate Radio-Electronic Warfare Battalion. Its main task is to ensure operations aimed at achieving air superiority, protecting its own command systems from enemy interference, and disrupting the operation of enemy command systems. During the battles for Ilovaisk, the battalion lost Sergeant Ivan Kudenchuk, who was killed in action. On December 1, 2015, Sergeant Yuriy Hura died from injuries sustained during the conflict.
