

The engineering unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is part of the 128th Mountain Infantry Brigade.
The 534th separate engineering and sapper battalion (534th OISB, military unit A1927) is a unit of the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, part of the 128th mountain infantry brigade. It is located in the city of Vynohradiv, Transcarpathian region. In 1991, after the collapse of the USSR, the 534th Separate Guards Sapper Battalion, stationed at the time in the town of Vynohrady, Zakarpattia Oblast, came under the jurisdiction of Ukraine. In April 2001, the Ukrainian component of the International Engineer Battalion "Tysa" was subordinated to the 534th engineer and sapper battalion, stationed in the city of Vynohradyv. In the winter of 2015, units of the battalion took part in battles near Debaltseve. Under the command of Captain Serhiy Melymuka, mine barriers were installed at the "Lyokha" airfield near Sanzharivka. In the battle on January 21, 2015, thanks to them, losses were inflicted on the occupying troops who tried to break through the stronghold.
