On April 16, 2022, Andriy Stempitkyi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, announced that the corps command had decided to form a separate military unit within the Armed Forces.[7] It was possible to mobilize to this military unit through territorial recruitment and social support centers. Andriy Stempitkyi also reported on the possibility of transferring former soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from other units of the Armed Forces.
According to the publication "Ukrainian Pravda", in 2023 the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps was divided into two parts, one of which was attached to the SSO, and the second was reorganized into the 67th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the social network "Facebook" on the page "67 ombre DUK" for January 26, 2024, there is a message that the 7th Special Operations Center (SDC) "DUK" as part of the Special Operations Forces (SSO) of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces was founded by the command of the DUK PS together with the command of the Armed Forces April 5, 2022 as part of: 1st separate assault battalion under the command of Dmytro Kotsyubail (Da Vinci); 2nd separate rifle battalion under the command of Taras Bobanych (Hammer); 3rd separate rifle battalion under the command of Comrade Gonta; 4th separate rifle battalion under the command of Comrade Kulibin.
Kharkiv counteroffensive At first, the 7th SSD center was created on the basis of the DUK PS, which took part in the Kharkiv counteroffensive in September 2022. In November 2022, the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps "Right Sector" (the 7th center of the SSS SSO) was reformed into the 67th separate mechanized brigade "DUK" as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to a message on the Facebook network, all units of the DUK PS are part of the 67th OMBr "DUK" of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Outside the structural boundaries of the 67th OMBr "DUK", there are no units of the DUK PS. Battles for Bakhmut In March 2023, the brigade fought near Bakhmut.
On March 4, 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi celebrated the successes of the brigade's fighters during the defense of Bakhmut. On March 7, Dmytro Kotsyubailo, the commander of the 1st separate mechanized battalion "Da Vinci Wolves", died.
In April, fighters of the 1st battalion "Da Vinci Wolves" repelled the attack of the Russian PMK "Wagner", which tried to take a forest strip located 500 meters from the road between Bakhmut and Chasov Yar. It was the last road connecting the main Ukrainian forces with the military in Bakhmut. With it, the defenders of the city had the opportunity to take out the wounded and transfer equipment. After several days, the fighters of the battalion were able to move forward and clear a part of the forest strip that led to this road.
Battles for Kreminna Since June 2023, the brigade participated in battles in the Serebryan Forest near Kreminna. There, the Russians tried to break through the Ukrainian defense line and develop their offensive on the city of Lyman, which they lost in the fall of 2022. One of the sites in Serebryan Forestry was held by the 2nd Rifle Battalion named after Taras Bobanych.
