703rd Support Brigade

In 1994, the 50th Engineer-Sapper Regiment was reorganized into the 10th Engineer-Sapper Brigade. According to the Directive of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine dated February 24, 2002, No. D-115/1/05, and the Directive of the Commander of the Western Operational Command No. 15/1/075 dated April 12, 2002, the 10th Brigade was restructured into the 703rd Engineer Regiment by October 30, 2003.

In independent Ukraine, the personnel of the unit have become a vital part of the Armed Forces. They not only participated in numerous peacekeeping missions abroad, but also regularly assist with natural disaster response, such as harsh winters in Lviv and neighboring regions. Since 2008, the unit has fully transitioned to a contract-based service.

Key Tasks:

• Construction and maintenance of defensive fortifications
• Demining operations and engineering reconnaissance
• Providing river crossings and road infrastructure
• Logistical support for combat operations
