81st Airmobile Brigade (Ukraine)

The Command Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ensures reliable communication between headquarters and units through radio, wired, and satellite channels. It organizes and maintains mobile and stationary command posts in field conditions. The unit transmits operational orders and coordinates troop actions in combat situations. Information security includes data encryption and countering cyberattacks. The battalion also gathers, analyzes, and relays intelligence to the command.

It services communication equipment and ensures its transport. The battalion coordinates operations with electronic warfare, reconnaissance, and artillery units. It ensures uninterrupted command even in challenging conditions. Its functions are critically important for effective decision-making. Reliable command is the foundation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s operational effectiveness.

As part of the 81st Brigade, the command battalion provided leadership and communication support during the following operations:

• Defense of Donetsk Airport (2014–2015)
• Battles for Avdiivka, Pisky, Vodiane
• Operations in Lyman, Izium, Bilohorivka
• Battle for Bakhmut
• Fighting in Rubizhne

The battalion's servicemen have been awarded for exceptional combat achievements and exemplary service, including distinctions from the Commander of the “Luhansk” Operational-Tactical Group and the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.
