The formation of engineering troops as part of the Ground Forces of Ukraine with a number of regiments.
After the collapse of the USSR in 1992, the 91st engineering and sapper brigade of the Soviet Army became part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The regiment took part in numerous peacekeeping missions abroad, as well as in liquidating the consequences of emergencies and natural disasters in Ukraine. In January 2012, engineers of the unit helped to liquidate the consequences of a freight train accident near the city of Trostyanets in Sumy Oblast. the Pravdyna boarding school in the village of Ivanivka in the Okhtyr district was attached to the regiment
