“Subscribe to army”: A Platform for Regular Army Support That Works Like a Streaming Service

Volunteers and businesses created a platform that allows people to support specific AFU units through recurring payments — using the same logic as a Netflix or Spotify subscription. You choose a brigade, define an amount starting from UAH 10, set the frequency — daily, weekly, or monthly — and the funds are automatically transferred directly to the official account of the unit. No commissions, no intermediaries, with open statistics available in the dashboard.

The subscribetoarmy.com platform is implemented on the basis of the RAZOM donation service and currently объединяет more than 150 brigades. The total amount of funds raised has exceeded UAH 1 million, and every month more than UAH 230,000 is transferred to unit accounts from more than 1,200 active subscribers.

One of the units on the platform is the 130th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A unit that operates where mistakes are not an option.

Reconnaissance never stops

The 130th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion is a combat military intelligence unit specializing in close and deep reconnaissance, electronic intelligence, aerial reconnaissance, and fire adjustment. The battalion carries out missions in the most difficult sectors of the front and provides combat operations with up-to-date intelligence information in real time.

The specifics of the work dictate special supply requirements. Reconnaissance operates around the clock — which means that equipment, drones, communication systems, and transport must be continuously updated and repaired. “The state covers the basic needs, but there are many things that need to be purchased оперативно. That is why support from people and businesses remains extremely important,” explains Vadym Khomenko, recruiter of the recruitment group of the 130th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion.

The battalion learned about “Subscribe to army” from fellow soldiers and volunteers who already had positive experience cooperating with the platform. What interested them most was the format of regular support — predictable and targeted.

Not a one-time impulse, but a stable resource

The key advantage of the platform for units is not the amount, but the regularity. One-time fundraising campaigns depend on the news cycle and the emotional state of society. A subscription does not. “For us, this is not just a donation, but stable support that allows us to plan supplies and meet the unit’s needs more quickly,” says Vadym Khomenko.

The battalion saw the first inflows almost immediately after launching its page. “It was very pleasant. First of all because you see that people trust and are ready to support the battalion on a permanent basis,” he adds. The funds are planned for things that directly affect the effectiveness of combat missions: components for drones, batteries, charging equipment, communications, and transport.

There is also a broader dimension. When soldiers see that they are supported by people who have never personally met them, it changes their internal state. “For the military, this is a sign that they are not alone. Every contribution is not only support for the unit, but also support from people who believe in us and in our shared victory,” Vadym concludes.

“Your support truly works. Even a small contribution, multiplied by hundreds of caring people, produces a tangible result and helps us carry out combat tasks more effectively,” he says to those who are still considering the decision.

How to subscribe

You can join “Subscribe to army” in a few steps:

If 1% of Ukrainians set up a subscription of UAH 100, the army would receive UAH 37 million every month — hundreds of drones, communications systems, and equipment purchased systematically rather than in emergency mode. The math is simple. The decision is yours.
